What a way to close out five nights at the Garden. Rage delivered their longest known set ever to close out their US run of shows with an absolutely epic performance. We got two more songs in addition to their normal rotation + we ALMOST had Wind Below!! It was on the V1 setlist but a V2 setlist was performed instead. Each song sounded incredible and I think Rage left it all on the stage last night. Continually blown away by the energy this band puts out. A special thanks to Joe, Anthony, Alex, Andrew, Tom, and Joe B. for an absolutely incredible time last night. Was great to finish the MSG run with such a great crew and cannot wait to do it again next year. Anthony and Joe hoisted me one final time at the Garden to wave the flag and Brad hit me in the head with a drumstick he lobbed directly at me. Hope someone got that drumstick!

FISTFUL OF STEEL! The first performance of Fistful since 1997-09-21 at their very last show of the Evil Empire tour. We knew this one might be coming at some point but I never EVER thought I'd get to hear it. The band tightened up the song a bit dropping some of the bass interludes and it sounded better than ever. Incredibly stoked I got to hear this one and what a treat. Apparently it hadn't been rehearsed since prior to the tour which takes massive balls to attempt at the Garden. Cannot wait for Sunday's show - who knows what will be pulled out?! In terms of the recording this is another stellar capture of the crowd and Tim's bass monitor. I was basically on the rail again by total accident and got a sick capture with my camera. As such one of the channels is unbalanced and things are bassy but I left it as is. If someone wants to clean things up that would be fantastic. Was great to go to the show with such great people including Joe, Anthony, Alex, Andrew, Tom, and Manny. Cannot WAIT to do it again Sunday! Andrew held the flag during Che and we made sure to film him holding it up. Andrew returned the original Che flag to Joe after Joe lost it over 15 years ago at Randall's Island so for him to hold it up was incredibly special. I hope (and know) it made your night! A huge thanks again to Sully and the sound crew for making the band sound so great. I feel bad that I'm capturing in one of the worst spots since it doesn't do his sound justice at all but I'll be sure to round out the tour with a good capture so folks can hear how great their work sounds. Sunday can't come soon enough!

What a fantastic show. I got to go with Anthony, Joe, and my brother all on the floor for what has been the best set at the Garden so far. We met up with several awesome individuals ahead of time (Manny, Tom, and Andrew) and we all rocked the rail. I was not expecting at all to be so close for Rage but thanks to those guys we were right up close the entire time. We ran video as well and that turned out pretty awesome although I had crowd surfers going over me quite a few times to get out of the pit. Definitely not a great audio taping spot though lol. I had two people go over during Without a Face and one smashed my hat which is why the sound drops during that song. There was also a screamer right behind me that you can hear let out an impressively long yell right before and at the start of War Within a Breath. During Killing in the Name Anthony and Joe hoisted me to wave the Che flag again and it was displayed on the back screen! What a crazy night. Cannot wait to do it two more times! A huge, huge, HUGE thanks to Sully and his sound crew for the incredible sound that we hear every night. This has been the best sounding arena show I've ever been to and it is him and his crew every night that makes the sound shine. It's unbelievable how good these concerts sound in person regardless of where you are in the venue and we have them to thank for it. If you can swing a show you'll be blown away by it. We cannot thank you and the crew enough!

First of all, a fantastic time meeting so many great Full Senders ahead of the show. Was great to finally meet the king of Full Sends in person and shoot the shit ahead of time. Let's do it again soon! Rage played another fantastic MSG set and sounded much more dialed in than they did Monday night. The sound was more clear as well; couldn't believe the difference. Solid setlist with Tire Me and Take the Power Back rounding out the first rotation slots and probably the best performance I've seen of Vietnow for the second. Recording came out solid for my position, no complaints. No talkers or anything around me either. Also filmed in 4K as well and was very happy with how that turned out. This was my brother and I's first Rage show together in over 15 years, having last seen Rage together at Rock the Bells on Randall's Island. We'll be back at it Thursday!

RAGE AT THE GARDEN! The first of five nights at the Garden over the course of a week. First time Rage has done a residency like this anywhere since their five night stint at the Roseland in NY in 1996. All of the shows are sold out which is wild. I got off the subway and bumped into Trackstar the DJ before the show - what an incredibly nice guy! Definitely very star struck so if you're reading this sorry for being awkward lol. I was situated higher up towards the back of the floor but the recording still came out well. The band wasn't entirely on it tonight and the sound could've been improved I think but hey, they have four more nights to figure it out. The band was definitely amped up to be performing and the crowd was into it. Fun show overall. Can't wait for the other four! Also filmed as well and came out pretty decent. Should be sharing that as well at some point

Night 2 of DC. I was on the floor 40-50 meters back in front of the soundboard left side. Prior to Rage Anthony and I were talking to a guy in a full suit who had scalped a ticket and somehow made it onto the floor. When Rage came on the floor exploded. I had a full pit form around me during Bombtrack and I had to run out of it to avoid getting crushed. However, there were multiple pits that were around me so I got ping-ponged around the floor quite a bit. I saw the guy in the suit jumping and running around like a maniac which made my night. Great setlist although no FTP which we were hoping to get. Interestingly, the printed setlist said "V2" and included Vietnow so I'm curious to know what was on the V1 setlist. I filmed as well but since it was so chaotic the footage is chaotic to say the least. DC had the roughest crowds both nights. Next up, MSG!

This was easily the roughest and most intense crowd of the tour. Mega pits the entire time, crowd surfers, jumping around, this show had it all. The band seemed especially fired up, with Zack giving a speech during Bullet in the Head. Was great to have so many friends at the show - can't wait to do it again!

What a great day with so many great people: Ryan of the Nine Inch Nails live archive, Meghan of War Within a Breath, Anthony, GW, Shane, and of course Sunny. It was so awesome to spend the day with fellow Rage and music fans. This was hands down one of the best sets of the tour and I think this might be their longest set of original songs to date. No Shelter was performed on a black Gibson guitar which might be a first. Wake Up was performed on Meghan's request which was wild as well. A truly unforgettable day - let's do it again in DC soon! In terms of the recording it sounds great. Small channel dropout in Bombtrack that I left, that was from me adjusting the recorder. Nbox Platinum was used tonight and it sounds killer. Also filmed (and monitored!) in 4K as well. There were at least two other tapers tonight so this show should have some killer tapes emerge from it soon :)

Holy shit what a great fucking day. I spent the day with a great friend who I've known since undergrad and he treated me to a fantastic few days in Pittsburgh. We had some drinks at a restaurant overlooking the entire city and then headed to the show where we met the legendary GW and co. outside the venue. I've bumped into him at least twice at a Rage show without coordinating lol and it is always a pleasure. Thanks to him and co. we were able to get down to the lower section and then eventually the floor despite originally having nosebleeds. A huge thank you to the two individuals that made that happen - you know you are and it is something I'll never forget. Rage played another fantastic set, bringing back Vietnow and continuing to play Born of a Broken Man. I think this might be the best sounding recording I've done of the tour since I was in the sweet spot without any talkers. I also filmed and monitored the camera for once. Enjoy!

BORN OF A BROKEN MAN!! Another amazing set by Rage Against the Machine, this time featuring the tour debut of Born of a Broken Man. Rage moved a few songs around which was a nice surprise tonight. Close Your Eyes was done with Run the Jewels and sounded incredible. During Killing in the Name the band displayed images of Tamir Rice, a young child shot to death by a Cleveland Police Officer, on the scren. I was mostly dead center 30 meters back or so and filmed as well. I did get knocked around a bit but hey, it's a Rage show and I was near the pit. I didn't monitor the recorder since I was trying to film and not get crushed so it looks like the levels might've been a bit hot. Good times!
