Zapata's Blood
In-Song Dialogue: Yeah. Yo, on January 1st, of 1994. The indigenous [??] of southern Mexico declared war against the 65 year old dictatorship. The US financed and supported it. The Mexican government, the [??] Revolutionary Institutionale, Presidente Ernesto Zedillo, helped pass the North America Free Trade Agreement. Which destroyed article 27 in the Mexican Consitution. The article which guaranteed poor farmers the right to their communities and their lands. Lands that are now being stolen, bought up, by trans national corporations owned by Germany, Japan, Italy, and France, and the United States of America. The Zapatistas, and their movement, want to destroy the greedy power structure and liberate their lands and their peoples. Check it out, they've got this saying, the Zapatistas got this saying, I want you all to sing it with me now, come on. Everything for everyone and nothing for ourselves. Notes
Shared for the first time in April of 2021. Huge thanks to Wilson66 for taping and sharing! Overall very good sound, maybe a bit light on the bass which is what the taper has noted as well. Taper notes: "My microphones were suffering from a bad wire or something at this time, so these Roskilde recordings are less than optimal. There are no shorts or glitches, but the recordings are a bit thin sounding, and virtually mono. That said, they are still pretty listenable. Your mileage may vary...
