  • Yo. I had this little fantasy right? About the LA rebellion. I was thinking instead if it was, instead of it being isolated in the poorest communities around Los Angeles, that what if it was over in the rich communities. And what if, what if all the workers and shit instead of burning the little businesses in their communities were in there taking over factories. And what if all the students were taking over their schools. That would've been the shit right? This song is called Rolling Down Rodeo.

In-Song Dialogue: Yeah. How many people came out and saw us last night? Cool. See then you know that last night we had some trouble right? Yeah some trouble up in here. We have some friends from the organization in the back called the Friends and Family of Mumia Abu Jamal. And [??] in here trying to fuck with us. But apparently they were saying they couldn't set up their booth, they couldn't pass out information. And apparently we found out that this whole club right here is next door to a cop station. And underneath the ground that you all are standing on when we were playing up here is a police parking garage. And from what I hear this dude that was telling them they couldn't set their shit up is trying to save face with the cops who are surrounding this building. But we don't give a fuck what they try to do, who they try to intimidate. The word is getting out. And more people are joining the movement to free Mumia Abu Jamal. They're trying to set an example with Mumia. They're trying to nix this brother because he had to nerve to stand up and articulate the oppression that poor blacks in Philadelphia have been experiencing. And like many in recent history who this system has put to death they're trying to do the same to him. People like Fred Hampton. People like Medga Edwards. People like little Bobby Hunt. People like Macolm X. And we ain't gonna let them pull this shit this time. And what it's going to take is all of us in this fucking room. Before the night is over to go back there to that booth and pick up some information. Talk to the brothers and sisters in the Friends and Family of Mumia Abu Jamal and find out what you can do. Yes. This last song we're going to play is called Freedom.
  • 14. Freedom

A huge thanks to Joe and Ryan for providing me with a copy of the Master tape! Joe shot this with permission from the band both nights at the Electric Factory. The quality on this is incredible. This is easily one of Rage's finest performances and one of the best recordings out there. I cannot thank Joe enough for taping and sharing! Shot up from the upper balcony and this has the best footage from a Rage pit and also includes a bit of after the show.

A huge thanks to Jlizard and Carl for providing me with a copy of the Master tape! This was transfered from the Master DAT and has circulated over the years but I think incorrectly attributed to CSBs (see the other source on the archive). Jlizard told Carl: "Recorded left side stack and next to a large cement pole. Same place both nights. Here is a tidbit I remembered... 8/12 mic in low sensitivity, 8/13 line in. Testing Sonics for high SPL. Sent tape to Sonics to verify distortion on preamp and hence went with line second night. These two shows are what made me get an Oade mod on my D7 and D8. Three months later Jeff (RIP) used the D7 at Tool Electric Factory 11/23/96." That Tool concert was pressed to several different bootleg CDs.
